Our History
Founded in 1973, Gromax Precision was born from the vision of our founders, Gus Aulis and Ronald Okonek, who came together to provide innovative design and drafting services to major Fortune 500 manufacturing companies. Specializing in complex tooling and precision stamping dies, they soon realized the customer demand for in-house tooling production and metal stamping services. In 1981, Max Limmer joined the team, completing the “Max” in Gromax and expanding our capabilities to offer a full turn-key solution—designing, building, and stamping parts in-house for customers who desired streamlined service.
Our legacy of expertise is supported by a sustainable tool and die apprenticeship program designed to pass on critical skills in design, manufacturing, and project management. This program, which partners with local high schools, prepares young apprentices with an aptitude for creativity, precision, and hard work. In our state-of-the-art tool room, experienced tool & die makers continue the “old world” tradition, teaching each generation the skills needed to create, troubleshoot, and manage complex tooling projects from the ground up.

At Gromax Precision, we specialize in custom tooling, gages, assemblies, and precision metal stamped parts for sectors that demand the highest standards. Our expertise includes precision tooling and metal stamping with tolerances as tight as 2 microns (0.0001”), along with complex metal stamping and in-die assemblies.
Based in Germantown, Wisconsin, we’re strategically positioned in the Midwest manufacturing hub, with a network of trusted vendors from Chicago to Minneapolis. Our vetted supply chain provides reliable sources for raw materials, coatings, plating, heat treatment, jig grinding, chemical milling, laser welding, electrical discharge machining (EDM), 3D printing, and more, enabling us to offer clients a dependable, comprehensive “one-stop shop.”
