Use a die transfer review when an existing stamping tool needs to move to a new supplier, return to production, or be repaired before running again.

Transferred tools often arrive with missing setup notes, incomplete maintenance history, or outdated drawings. A technical review helps identify what’s known, what’s missing, and what needs to be verified.

If production has been paused, interrupted, or pulled from another supplier, the die may need inspection, repair, setup validation, and trial runs before it’s production-ready.

Burrs, dimensional variation, fit problems, scrap, and press downtime can point to tool wear, setup issues, material changes, or inspection gaps that need to be corrected.

Delivery delays, quality problems, slow response, or capacity limits can create real supply risk. A die takeover program can help move the work to a more controlled production path.

A qualified U.S.-based stamping source can reduce supply risk, improve communication, and support programs that need better control over timing, quality, or compliance.

The die is only part of the program. Gages, fixtures, inspection methods, plating, deburring, assembly, and other secondary operations may also need review before production restarts.

Wear or damage can affect hole location, forming accuracy, feed control, sensor function, and repeatable part quality.

Older tools may need review against the current drawing, revision level, tolerances, and customer requirements.

 Incomplete documentation makes setup, troubleshooting, repair planning, and restart approval harder.

Part changes can point to wear, alignment issues, material variation, forming problems, or feed instability.

Inspection methods must confirm the current print, datum scheme, tolerances, and functional features.

Material, finishing, deburring, cleaning, or outside-process gaps can affect fit, function, and approval.

Unresolved tool or process risks can delay restart, increase rejects, or create customer approval issues.
