If your program involves defense-related hardware or controlled technical data, ITAR changes how information and parts need to be handled — not just where they can ship, but who can access drawings, specs, and communication along the way.
At Gromax Precision Die & Mfg. Inc., we’re registered under ITAR and we run controlled-work practices to protect ITAR-regulated parts and technical data. That includes managed facility access, program-level handling of documentation, and tighter controls around how files are shared and stored.
Sharing files for quotes: If your drawings or specifications are ITAR-controlled, please don’t upload them through a general online RFQ form. We’ll point you to a secure method for transmitting technical data so your team stays compliant from the first exchange.
We apply ITAR handling when:
• Your PO, contract, or flow-down requirements call out ITAR/DDTC
• The technical data is marked ITAR-controlled or tied to USML items
• The application clearly supports defense or controlled end use, even if the paperwork isn’t perfectly labeled yet
One important clarification: ITAR is a federal registration requirement — not a certification. There isn’t an “ITAR-certified” designation issued by the government. What matters is that a supplier is properly registered and has the internal discipline to protect controlled data and execute work within ITAR expectations.
If you’re not sure whether your part or documentation falls under ITAR, send us the basics (without controlled attachments) and we’ll help you sort out the cleanest way to proceed.
