progressive dies

Progressive die tooling for precision stamped parts.

Gromax designs, builds, and supports progressive dies that keep tight-tolerance stamped components running clean, stable, and repeatable.

From conductive materials and spring contacts to plating, assembly-critical features, and long-term volume, we control each die station so quality stays stable after launch.

when

progressive DIE

is a good fit

When annual demand and program life support the investment, a progressive die can improve throughput, consistency, and long-term piece-part cost.

Critical dimensions, contact areas, bend locations, and mating features often need dedicated tooling to hold repeatable results in production.

Parts with pierces, bends, forms, tabs, lances, coined areas, or other linked features benefit from a die plan that controls each station in sequence.

Springback, flatness, contact force, and fit can change based on material type, thickness, temper, and grain direction.

Burr direction, edge condition, and part presentation should be planned early when they affect contact surfaces, insertion, overmolding, safety, or assembly.

Plating, finishing, insert moulding, and assembly requirements should be planned around the stamped-part geometry, tolerances, and handling method.

Dedicated stamping tooling can provide lower unit costs, faster output, and more consistent quality than short-run or lower-volume manufacturing methods.

parts we support

Gromax builds progressive dies for precision stamped parts used in demanding electromechanical assemblies, including:

Spring Clips & Brackets

Formed parts for retention, grounding, positioning, or mechanical support.

Busbars

Conductive stampings for power distribution and high-current assemblies.

EMI/RF Shields

Stamped covers or cans that reduce electronic interference.

Stamped Inserts for Overmolding

Metal inserts designed to be molded into plastic assemblies.

Leadframes & Sensor Inserts

Precision stamped frames or inserts for electronic packages.

Wire Form Pins

Formed contacts for signal, grounding, battery, or spring-force connections.

Ultra Thin Foil

Flexible conductive components using ultra-thin foil material.

PRODUCTION

support

Planned maintenance helps control wear, burrs, dimensional drift, and unplanned downtime.

Critical spare components are identified and prepared to reduce repair lead time and production restart risk.

Worn or damaged die sections are repaired and restored to a controlled production condition.

Tool Wear Assessment

Custom gages and fixtures enable fast, repeatable verification of critical dimensions and functional features.

Inspection methods are developed around how the stamped part is formed, located, assembled, and used.

Tapping, machining, deburring, staking, riveting, cleaning, assembly, and packaging are supported with appropriate fixturing and process control.

Plating, finishing, heat treating, cleaning, and other outside processes are coordinated to protect dimensions, appearance, and performance.

Tooling, material, inspection, setup, and process-related issues are reviewed to identify root causes and implement lasting corrective action.

Whether you’re launching a new stamped component, moving from prototype to production, replacing a supplier, or reviewing an existing die program, we can take a look.
